Families: A Step by Step Guide
This page is designed to be an easy guide to helping your family start the process of finding a wonderful nanny through San Antonio Nanny Service.
Step 1. Request a San Antonio Nanny Service Application
To better help us in matching your family with the nanny that best suits your needs, we ask that each family complete and return a Nanny Service Application.
Just drop us an e-mail or give us a call and we will be happy to fax or e-mail an application to you right away. You may also click here to download the application. This is not an interactive link. You must print the application and fax or e-mail it to us.
Step 2. Agency Interview
After we receive your application we will contact you to set up a convenient time for your free in home interview. We would like to meet you and your children in your home environment to help us know which nanny candidate's will be a good match for your family.
Step 3. Signing the Agency/Client Agreement
We will provide you with an Agency/Client Agreement which you would need to sign and return to us with your deposit of half the agency fee. This deposit is not an additional charge. It will be applied to your placement fee. It is non-refundable should you change your mind.
Step 4. Interviewing and Choosing Your Nanny
After we have received you signed Agency/Client Agreement and the deposit we will make referrals of nanny candidates that we have pre-screened that we feel are best suited to meet your families nanny needs. You can interview as many candidates as needed to find the right match for your family. Often, families only need to interview a few candidates as San Antonio Nanny Service only refers candidates for interview that are a good match for your family. This makes the process much easier and less time consuming for the family.
Step 5. Offering Nanny a job
When you have found a nanny candidate that you would like to hire you will contact your family coordinator and let them know. You may negotiate directly with the nanny as to what her hourly wage will be or we will be happy to act as intermediary and negotiate for you. The hourly wage of most nannies will be between $8 -$15 per hour depending on nannies experience, number of children, and household duties. You may also wish to have a 2-3 day trial period with a nanny candidate to determine if they are a good fit before offering them a position. You may have up to a three day trial with a nanny candidate. During this trial you will pay San Antonio Nanny Service a $25 a day agency fee + $10 per hour for hours nanny works. This fee will be due prior to nanny begining her trial period.
Step 6. Referral Fee
Once you and the nanny candidate have mutually agreed on employment, you will then need to pay the remaining balance of your agency referral fee. This fee must be paid prior to nanny begining employment or 7 days after you have let your family cooridinator know that you would like to hire nanny (whichever comes first).
Step 7: Agency Support
San Antonio Nanny Service offers ongoing support to its clients. If a nanny placement does not work out within the first four months, we will help you find another nanny at no additional cost (some restrictions apply). If for any reason your nanny is sick or has a personal emergency we will provide you (as available) with a temporary nanny ($25 a day agency fee, $12 hr for nanny). We highly recommend that you have a written agreement with your nanny as to what her specific duties will be, hourly wage, vacation, holiday & sick day pay/arrangements, insurance etc.
